' - - 90th Birthday Open House to Honor Emma Neilson Mrs. Neilson is an active member of the LDS church and has a lifetime of continuous con-tinuous service, having held all the offices and positions on a ward level that a woman may hold. She is also currently serving as a voting Registration Agent and Election Judge. Emma Prides herself on remembering the birthdates of her many relatives and friends and wishes a great many of them "Happy Birthday" by greeting card, telephone call, or personal visit. Another of her hobbies is quilt making and all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren are the recipients of the labor, talent and love she puts into these beautiful gifts. :' Friends and relatives are I invited to an open house and dance to honor Emma G. Neilson on her 90th birthday, .? Saturday, Jan. 13, from 7:30 to 10:30 p. m. at the New I Harmony ward recreation hall. Program will be held at 8:30 a. m. The family requests no gifts please. Emily Adelia Grant (known as Emma ) was born Jan. 14, 1889, at New Harmony. Har-mony. Utah-a daughter of Emily Jane Adair and Edmund Carbine Grant. She married James D. Neilson, June 21, 1909. To them were born seven children. Mr. Neilson and three children, J.Grant Neilson, Berenice Law, and Shirley Charlton are deceased. The four living children are, Keith Neilson, Parowan, Utah; j Mrs. John (Ilene iO'Rullian. Idaho Falls, Idaho; Marguerite Mecham, Milford, Utah; and James Dayle Neilson, New Harmony, Har-mony, Utah. She also has 12 grandchildren and 25 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; and one living brother, Floyd Grant, Ivans, Utah. Emma has lived most of her ninety years in New Harmony except for a brief period in Avon, Montana, and five years in Cedar City. She lives alone and maintains main-tains her home, yard, and small vegetable and flower garden. She regularly attends at-tends church and community com-munity meetings and activities, ac-tivities, and visits the ill and homebound. In good weather she drives herself to appointments ap-pointments and shopping out of town. |
