Scout Troop 360 Membership Drive Scout Troop 360, Cedar Breaks District, National Parks Council, is conducting its fall membership drive, and any boy who is 11-18 years of age, or who has completed the 5th grade can join. Troop 360 was formed in 1975 to serve the needs of boys who have different religious beliefs, but whose church may not have enough members to support an active scout program. The boys are expected to complete com-plete their religious requirements at the church of their choice. The troop is chartered by, and follows the principles and by-laws of the National Boy Scouts of America. Institutions and organizations sponsoring the troop are: Presbyterian Church, -First Baptist Church, Catholic Church, Zion Baptist Church and the Elks Lodge. An adult committee guides and supports the troop. Meetings are held on Tuesday evenings in the basement of the Elks Lodge from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The Lodge is located at 111 E. 200 N. Cedar City. The scout 'leaders are 4 college graduates trained in environmental en-vironmental engineering, hydrology, biology, geography, and their backgrounds and present jobs will be a valuable asset to the troop. They also have a keen interest in youth, and have been trained to be scout leaders by professional scouter Willard Hansen and Cedar Breaks District Trainer, Ed Hahne. The troop is looking forward for-ward to an active year, and plans call for top quality fun filled weekly meetings, numerous outdoor events, and active participation in all phases of scouting. Anyone interested in joining the troop as a boy scout is welcome. For information call Scoutmaster Karl Gebhardt at 586-8004 or committeeman Bill Sheehan 586-4219. |
