Show Blake Hyatt hit by stray bullet PAROWAN Blake Hyatt, age 40, a resident of Parowan was accidently shot and seriously wounded early Saturday morning while hunting deer near Salina. Hyatt was struck in the shoulder by a stray bullet from a high powered rifle at around 7:30 in the morning shortly after leaving the cabin he and his son Earl and a friend Dennis Limb of Cedar had spent the night in. They were hunting in the Rex Reservoir area. Word was sent by CB radio to the Sevier County Sheriff's office which dispatched a helicopter to the scene. Mr. Limb and Mr. Hyatt's son were credited with saving his life by stopping the bleeding and giving first aid during the three hour wait for help to arrive. Two doctors flew in the helicopter and ad-minstered ad-minstered emergency aid to Mr. Hyatt. He was flown to the Sevier Valley Hospital in Richfield and then transferred tran-sferred to LDS Hospital in Salt Lake where he underwent un-derwent extensive surgery to repair the shattered shoulder.
