Cedar High Marching Band and Mohey Tawa captured superior ranking and second place honors in Region Six Band Festival hosted this past week by American Fork. Marching Band - Mohey Tawa compete at American Fork cipal Jerald Hawley. Students who participated were tired following the trip hut indicated that they hoped to participate again next year. Mike Graf serves as president of the band. Eve Michie is the drum major. Recently the Cedar City High SchooJ Marching Band participated in the Region VI Marching Band Festival that was hosted by American Fork. The band, directed by Larry Wright, and assisted by Gregory Pitt, performed an exciting half-time routine that featured the Mohey Tawa, Cedar's outstanding drill team. The band and drill team were given a superior rating, and were the runner-up runner-up band to American Fork, the winner of the Region Festival . The festival was judged by Greg Hansen, director of the University of Utah Marching Band. Mr. Hansen was very complimentary to the band, and especially pleased with the Mohey Tawa. He felt that Mrs. Carol Bishop had done a fine job with the girl's drill team. mr. wrignt was very pleased with the efforts of the band pointing out that this year's band is the first group to compete in a marching band festival in several years. It was necessary to make the round trip from Cedar City to American Fork in one day. Supporting the group by his attendance was Prin- |
