The Evans court is located at 100 South and 200 West and he lias installed the needed sewer facilities for use by, permanent residents. But, as ho explained to city officials, he has now been informed by tlie Small Business Adminis-1 t ration, who is financing his project that under SBA regulations, reg-ulations, overnight trailer spaces are needed and that1 those must have sanitary fa-1 cilities. Evans' problem is that he lacks room for such a building to house the facilities. facili-ties. lie therefore asked the city to sell him a strip of land adjoining his property on the south, wh icli is owned by the city as part of the area around I the Hydro plant. The council was in favor of selling him the needed land, but is confronted con-fronted with the legal requirements require-ments for sale of city owned ground, and the sale will have to go through the legal channels. chan-nels. It was brought to the attention atten-tion of the council that the Gurr Farms Development Co. has applied for the right to.: drill a well at their develop ment project in the vicinity of Brian Head Ski resort to furnish fur-nish water to subdivision lots. And that the Parowan Reservoir Reser-voir Company (the Fields and City), has filed a protest against the well through a petition pe-tition to tlie State Engineers off ice. The Gurr Bros, had proposed that water from a spring they own in Dry Canyon be used in trade for water up on top to be procured by drilling a well. While the result of the protest isn't as yet known, it seemed to be the concensus of members of the council, that water for development of the high mountain subdivisions will have to be procured by direct dealing between those who want the water and those who now own it. It was announced that Norman Nor-man Day, water commissioner commission-er for Parowan Valley, has again been called upon to read the water measurements at the weirs at the breakwater breakwat-er and to make regular reports re-ports to the State Engineers office. Mrs. Roy Stubbs was approved ap-proved as secretary of the city library board, if she will accept ac-cept the post which was left vacant by the resignation of Mrs. Gale Stolk the first of the year. A serious problem has developed de-veloped in the City Volunteer Fire Department, which is in need of immediate solving. It was reported to the council that only two members showed show-ed up to answer a recent fire call and no one seemed to know how to man the fire fighting equipment. |
