Show Gun and Rod Club starts drive for more members The following letter is going go-ing out this week from the officers of the Parowan Gun and Rod Club, to those whom they feel could or should be members, or who have been members of the organization. The purpose of the letter is explained by its writer Dewey Dew-ey Topham, club secretary. It is as follows: Dear Sportsmen: As officers of the Parowan Gun and Rod Club we would like to do something to increase in-crease the membership in it. We realize that there are many ma-ny new people in town that would like to join if they were asked and knew what to do. We intend to make this letter an invitation to these people to join us. We also realize that there are many long time residents who might like to become member, or who have been members, but are now inactive. inac-tive. This invitation is also extended to these people to join with us again. There are many things go-ing go-ing on in our area at present that are of interest to the sportsmen. Some of these problems and programs are old but still important and some of them are new. In our monthly meetings we try to on these programs by calling keep the sportsmen informed in special guests from government govern-ment agencies involved, to explain ex-plain their programs to us. As special activities we sponsor several rabbit hunts and two socials per year. Our meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at 8 p. m. at our club-house club-house on 100 West between Center and 200 South streets. The membership dues are S3 per calendar year. We would certainly be happjy to have you join us. This year's officers are Ted Burton president; Eugene F nobb, vice president; Dewey Topham, secretary and Roy vvhirlock, treasurer. |
