Cedar High School Redmen took it on the chin Friday evening as the visiting Flyers from St. George, sailed over, around and through the Red-men Red-men for a convincing 40-14 1 victory to give the Flyers undisputed first place in the Region Eight AA race. The lo.-s by the Redmen threw second place into a three way tie between the Redmen, Delta and Millard. The j Redmen settled down for a , tight defence game for the remainder of the period then j stopped the Flyers on the 33 I on a fourth and one and start-i start-i ed a drive of their own. A Rodman drive early in the third period was thwarted with a pass interception on the Flyers five and the smooth running club from Dixie took advantage of the reversal to march 64 yards for another score and two point convers1 ion. . Near the end of the period 'the Redmen captured a Dixie, fumble and drove 43 yards for a score to wind up the third quarter with the Flyers lead- CUT OFF AT THE PASS. Two unidentified Redmen take the pins out from under a Dixie Flyer player in action Friday evening. On this play the Flyers were stopped cold with the "high, low" action on the part of a fine defensive unit for the Cedar High School Redmen. |
