Show Dee G. Cowan elected commander American Legion Post for 1972 Chatterley was charged with the responsibility of presenting present-ing the ideas and plans discussed dis-cussed to the new officers at their first meeting. Dee G. Cowan was elected Commander of the American Legion Post No. 74 at an election elec-tion meeting held this past week. Cowan, a Cedar City businessman busi-nessman and active community commun-ity leader, will succeed Dr. Garth Chatterley at the helm of the veterans organization. , Named first vice commander command-er was Bryan Bulloch and Bert Carpenter to serve as second vice commander. Elected Adjutant Ad-jutant was Max Cowan. Other officers to serve during dur-ing the ensuing year are Hal-dow Hal-dow E. Ohristensen, service officers; Arthur Dustin. Sergeant Ser-geant at Arms and Blaine Johnson, chaplain. Named to the executive committee were past commander Chatterley, Rulon Rickmore, Conrad Hatch and Ross Berry. In addition to the election other top'cs discucsed were the membership drive and Legion activities, with special streps on the annual Post baseball program; oratorical contest and Boys' State.
