He receved an AFROTC Commihsion from the U of U in 19-19 and has 21 years service ser-vice in the United States Air Force. He holds the rating of renior pilot and has served as chief of the Operations Research Re-search Branch, 2316th Tost Wing, Elgin AFB, Florida. Colonel Cravens as also research re-search and development staff officer with the Military Advisory Ad-visory Assistance Group in Bonn, Germany, chief of Wea- Lt. Colonel Kenneth F. Cravens Cra-vens is professor of Aerospace Studies in the newly organized organ-ized four-year AFHGTC program pro-gram at Southern Utah State College. The military program has been reinstated on the campus following the discontinuance discon-tinuance of the former two-year two-year program in 1905. Colonel Cravens is a native cf Las Vegas, Nev. but received receiv-ed his primary education in Ogden. He received a B.S. degree de-gree with honors from the University Un-iversity of Utah in 1949 and an M.S. from the same insti-tut insti-tut ion in 1959. He was awarded award-ed an MBA from the University Univer-sity of California at Los Angeles An-geles in 1965. Extensive training His military training has in-cludeed in-cludeed single and multi-engine pilot training, USAF Squadron Officers School, USAF US-AF Academic Instructors Course, USAF Counter-insur- pons Effectiveness Branch with the Systems Engineer Group at WPAFB, Ohio, and aircraft commander of the 376th Bomb Wing, Lockbourne AFB, Ohio. He also served as aircraft commander, 9 3rd Bomb Wing, Caytle AFB, Calif From 1955 to 1959 he w a3 as-, sistant professor of Air Science at Central Washington Colleg in Ellcnsburg, Washington. He was a member cf Phi Delta Kappa at the U of U and was awarded the organization's organ-ization's service key for con tributions to the feld of edu- caton. He is also a member of the Operations Research Society So-ciety of America and the Inst In-st it utc of Management Sciences. Prior to beginning hs career car-eer with the military. Colonel Craven taught mathematics in secondary schools. He is married to the former form-er Athleen D. Nelson. Th Cravens are the parents of four children, Karen Jene 21, Kent 17, Kurt 13, and Kcrri 9. |
