PHS Oand siudents selected to All - State Band Two girls from the music departments of Parowan High School, the Misses Shirley and Margaret Pollock, have been selected to participate in the 1971 Utah All State Band, it is announced by John Talcott, director of music. They are the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Pollock. The girls were selected by use of tape recorded andi-tions andi-tions held on a state wide basis. A select band of 120 members was chosen from more than 300 who auditioned, audition-ed, Talcott states. The band will assemble in Salt Lake City Oct. 6, and present a concert Friday, Oct. 8 at 8 p. m. in the Salt Lake Tabernacle, Taberna-cle, under the direction of Mr. Warren Benson of Ithaca College, N. Y. ' Shirley plays the B-flat clarinet clar-inet and Margaret plays the ' bass clarinet. |
