Show Workshop on Human Resources scheduled on Cedar City campus "A Human Resources Delivery Deliv-ery Workshop at Southern Utah State College on October 1 and 2 will be drawing state and local government officials together to work toward the goal of developing a more effective ef-fective and efficient delivery of social services," William G. Bruhn, Director, Department of Community Affairs, and Acting Act-ing State Planning Coordinator, Coordina-tor, stated today. Keynote ,,s-4'.'AiJk9i'4ut!Jhe workshop w ill be Senator Dixie Leavitt (R. Governor Calvin L. Rampton will be in attendance, "During the past months, the Departments of Social Services, Ser-vices, Employment Security, Public Instruction, and the Utah Law Enforcement Planning Plan-ning Agency, the Board of llig'her Education, and the Juvenile Ju-venile Court System, have been working with the Five-County Five-County Organization to explore ex-plore the possibility of a new delivery system which would eliminate the overlapping in existing services," Mr. Bruhn commented. The workshop is a locally directed project to present to local officials and other involved in-volved persons what is going on in the way of human resources re-sources and services in order that they can make decisions as to better coordination and delivery of services that would be responsive to the unique needs of the district, he stated. A local steering committee with representatives of coun-ty coun-ty commiisfonefs, school board presidents, mayors, legislators, and college presidents from Beaver, Garfield, Iron, Kane and Washington Counties has been working with the agencies involved in human resources to offer this workshop, work-shop, the Director commented. "The workshop is seen as a vital first step in the development devel-opment of a more effective and efficient means of service delivery which is at the same - tim.9 responsive and accountable account-able to those most effected by the services, the citizens of the area," stated Mr. Bruhn. . |
