Show T-Birds wind up track season ibe favored to win the meet but UNLV could make it a little tough as they have beat the T-Birds once and the SUSC squad have beaten them once this year. Mesa and Snow have scat-tered scat-tered strength and will make the going just that much harder for the T-Birds and UINLV. Field events start at 2:30 with running events to start at 3 p.m. Thunderbird thinclads wrap up the 1971 track season this Friday with a quadrangle meet on the T-Bird oval. University Un-iversity of Nevada Las Vegas, Mesa College of Colorado, and Snow College will end the season against the SUSC team. Five T -Birds picked up 13 points in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships this past Saturday in Golden, Colo, at Colorado School of Mines. Brian Wood started things off for the T-Birds with a fourth place finish in the javelin with a toss of 180 feet. Half Miler Ben Davidson followed fol-lowed with a 1:58 clocking and another fourth. Intermediate hurdler, Bob Comcford set a new school record as he scampered to a 54.7 timing and also a fourth place. The mile relay team of Davidson, Comeford, Bob , Nash, and Barry Whitaker finished the day with a 3.27.1 clocking in the relay and a ! sixth place point. ! This week the T-Birds will |
