PTA presents funds; name 1971-72 officers pressed their appreciation to all the parents and teachers for their unselfish assistance for making the past year a success. Expressions of thanks were also given to the principal, princi-pal, secretary, lunchroom stalf and janitorial staff for "their patience and help during dur-ing the past year." ' New officers of the South Elementary Parent Teachers Association were installed Thursday at a brunch held at the home of retiring president Mrs. Charles R. Prinkerhoff. Installed to served as president pres-ident for the 1971-72 school year was Mrs. Herbert H. Nakken. Mrs. Thomas R. Lyman Ly-man will serve as president elect and Mrs. W, Dee Jensen was installed as treasurer. Conducting the ceremonies was Mrs. Edward H. Hahne, president of the PTA Council for Cedar City. At the PTA meeting principal princi-pal of ,the school Clemont B. Adams, was presented with a $400 check that is to be used for the purchase of stage equipment for the school. The money was raised at the annual an-nual "Family Night" spon sored by the PTA Unit. , Principal Adams commented comment-ed that the now lights and microphones will greatly improve im-prove the quality of programs to be held at the school next year and in.thn future, rn aaditloW'fd'rics WWori-tributed WWori-tributed by the unit this year to two scholarships. One, a vocational scholarship which is awarded by the PTA Council Coun-cil in Iron County and the second an educational scholarship schol-arship awarded by the state to a high school graduate in the field of education. Money was also allocated for the newly elected PTA officers of-ficers to attend a three-day workshop to bo held at Brig-ham Brig-ham Young University Juno 1, 2 and 3. The retiring officers ex- |
