Show Parowan High PTA names new officers for 1971-72 The annual election of officers offi-cers for the Parowan High School Parent Teachers Association Asso-ciation was held last Wednesday Wed-nesday evening in connection with the Spring Concert of the Parowan High School band. The results of the voting made Frankie Lou Bentley the president-elect for the coming year. Thales Brown is to be vice president with Barbara Bar-bara Day as secretary.. New members of the board are Lael Dotson, Alene Orton and Beverly Taylor. The painting was donated to the PTA by Mrs. Warren A. Dalton. The proceeds of the drawing are to be added to the scholarship fund of the organization. Following the concert, those in attendance visited a showing show-ing in the student commons of the work of the art department depart-ment of the school, taught by Mrs. David Dalton and her teacher trainee, and the prize winning entries from Mr. Willis Wil-lis Robinson's industrial arts department. Included in this were several pieces of work which won first, second and third places at the recent industrial in-dustrial arts Vocational Day at College of Southern Utah. All in all it was quite an evening eve-ning of entertainment for the crowd in attendance. IP. ' frt:!8uM JUDGING WINNERS. FFA judging team takes first, third at vocational day J At the recent Vocational Day held on the campus of Southern Utah State College i in Cedar City, three boys representing rep-resenting the Parowan High School chapter of Future Farmers Far-mers of America won one first place ribbon and one third place ribbon in competition with boys from other FFA chapters in the area. The Parowan team won first place in the soils judging judg-ing contest, with five schools participating, according to advisor, ad-visor, Thales Brown. Brown announced that Jim Brown, won First place, Alan Adams took second place and that Danny Hulet was in third place, with the three making up the team. In the livestock judging the team came up in second place, just four points behind the winning team representing the Panguitch High FFA chapter. |
