Show Stevens funeral held in Cowley Ward LDS chapel Funeral services were held for Mrs. John R. Stevens April Ap-ril 23, at the Cowley Ward LDS chapel with Bishop Lyle Nichols Ni-chols conducting. The family prayer was by John K. Elack. Prelude and postlude music was by Helen P. Seaman, who was also at the piano for all musical numbers. A life history of the deceased deceas-ed was given by Dr. Delwin M. Stevens; the sermon was by Patriarch James B Harston. The Cowley Ward Choir sang "Oh, My Father to open the service and "Rest, Rest for the Weary" to close them. The song, "I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked", was sung by David Robertson; two old love songs were on the program "When Your Hair Has Turned to Silver" by Dr. Wayle L. and Ramona Rollins, and "For I've Grown so Used to You" by Wallace and Evaleen George, followed by the song "Grandmother's "Grand-mother's Old Fashioned Garden" Gar-den" by grandchildren. Invocation was by Ira M. Stevrnts, benediction by Sterling Ster-ling Johnson, and I he grave was dedicated by Vernon Rob-irtson. Rob-irtson. Tall bearers were Dr. Ralph V. Robertson. Darwin Johnson, Robert P. Black, Collin Col-lin M. Stevens, Delwin Stevens Stev-ens and John Robertson. |
