Show I Sandberg wins scholarship I Sonja Sandberg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Woodard Sandberg, Cedar City, has been awarded a Girls State scholarship, acording to John Q. Cannon, director of Financial Fin-ancial Aids at SUSC. Miss Sandberg is one of six Girls State delegates receiving receiv-ing the awards, which will provide full tuition at SUSC for the 1972-73 school year. As a 1971 delegate to the 25th annual American Legion Girls State, conducted Junt 6 through 12 on the SUSC campus, cam-pus, Miss Sandberg was nominated nom-inated as a candidate for Freedom County treasurer and served as a publicity assistant assist-ant for the week long event. Other 1971 scholarship winners win-ners are Patience Plaseda Venema, Salt Lake City; Ra-mena Ra-mena Morrell, Bicknell; Hal-ene Hal-ene Petersen, Riverton; Cynthia Cyn-thia Dawn Pickering, Vernal, and Evelyn Rasmussen, Monroe. The awards have been made available to worthy Girls State delegates for the two years that the event has been held at SUSC and will be provided pro-vided annually as long as the Girls State program continues, Mr. Cannon said. |
