Show Navy Petty officer Third Class Merrill E. Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur R. Jones of 2G6 South -150 West, and husiband of the former Miss Slierrie A. Holm of 227 North 000 West, all of Cedar City, has reported for duty at Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, Maryland. Local man named Distinguished Scholar at College Thorvald S. Ulevog, Technical Tech-nical Expert for Radar with the Federal Aviation Administration, Adminis-tration, Cedar City, was named nam-ed Distinguished Scholar of the School of Business and Technology, in graduation exercises ex-ercises at Southern Utah State College, June 5. Thor, as he is known to his many friends, was born in Great Falls, Montana, and attended grammar and high school in Bozeman, Montana. He served two hitches in the Armed Forces, with the Navy from 19-12 to 191G, and with the army from 1949 t0 1952. He entered on duty with the FAA in Pueblo, Colorado, in 1958. Since that time, he has been stationed in Boron, California, and now in Cedar City, Utah. He is married to the former Anna Belle, from Minbach a. M. Burgel, Germany.
