Mr a i ii'i mil j CHRYS POTTER i i mi inn ifii',;,iiM . , JEANNE DALTON r - JUDY TALBOT VONNIE VAN AUSDAL Parowan Lady, 84, Succumbs, Funeral Rites Held m$M if '' GLENN ROBINSON j Mrs. Frona Mortensen Cart-wright, Cart-wright, 84 year old Parowan resident, died at the Valley View Medical Center in Cedar i City on May 15, after a long illness, from causes incident , to age. Funeral services for her was held Saturday, May 18 at 2 p. m. in the Parowan Third, Ward Chapel with Bishop Veil Taylor conducting, and Itha Mortensen at the organ for prelude and postlude music. Speakers were Mrs. Barbara M. Adams and M. J. Warr, the latter of Beaver, with closing clos-ing remarks by Bishop Tay- CHAUNCEY ADAMS lor. The prayer at the home was offered by Robert Cart-wright, Cart-wright, a grandson; Elmer Lowe offered the opening prayer, Vern C. Mortensen, a brother, offered the closing prayer, and the grave in the 1 Parowan City cemetery, was dedicated by Frank O. Mortensen, Mor-tensen, also a brother of Mrs. Cartwright. Musical numbers were a vocal vo-cal duet ' 'Hold Thou My Hand", by Cherrie Day and Katrine Johnson and the song "Love at Home", by a mixed quartet, Frankie Lou Bentley, Berta Dalton, Alice Mitchell, Ola Robinson, Karl Mitchell, Rulan Dalton, Dewey Topham, and Ernest Ahlborn. Mrs. Mortensen Mor-tensen accompanied both numbers. Pallbearers were Robert, Michael and Gary Cartwright, grandsons; Omni Cartwright, Lewis Gene Mortensen and Edward Burton. Carrying the flowers were Marlene Burton, Claire Dalton, Marie Wanosik. Linda Mortensen. Val Rae Bryant ar,d Donna Cartwright. Mrs. Cartwright was born in Parowan April 4, 1SS4 to Samuel Sam-uel C. and Sarah Hansen Mortensen. Mor-tensen. Married to Jasper W. Cartwright, May 14, 1919 at Beaver. He died May 15, 1963. Following their marriage they resided in Lund, Utah where they operated a hotel and a dining room. She was a member of the LDS Church and American Le-1 gion Auxiliary. She is survived by a son. Don C. Cartwright, Parowan; four brothers and one sister: Albert. Frank, Vern and Cliff Mortensen and Pearl M. Para-more Para-more all of Parowan. four grandchildren and one rcat- |
