Show Cedar Prepares For Entry In National Contest Cedar City's entry in the National Clean and Beautiful City Contest is fast becoming 1 a reality, according to Forrest For-rest Hunter, chairman. "Our e.itry must be in th-3 form of a scrap book. This book must contain a complete story in words and pictures of the improvement im-provement made in our city," said Mr. Hunter. "It will be a very big job." 1 Since tue completion of the big clean up campaign, which ended on May 11, mucn time iias goas into an evaluation of tne project. A complete tally of work accompiisned ' must be recorded and an as-1 sessrnent oi the project in ac-1 tual cost and in man-hours must be made. j Mrs. Ann Judd has been given the responsibility oi keeping the man-hours record. This is a mainmotn job and will require the "cooperation of everyone if it is to be effective. ef-fective. Citizens are being aoived to report the hours they have spent in beautification projects. This is on their own j property as well as on public projects. Mrs. Judd reports that figures fig-ures are still being reported and tallied but, up to the present time, a total of 190 aours of big equipment ha-, boan donated to the city dur ing the "big push." The ser aujs of suea equipment a pick ups, back hoes, wreckers, graders, loaders, cats, dumt trucks, and fork lilts together with their skilled operator, were donated for a total ol $4,410. "We are working hard on the contest entry," Mr. Hunter 1 reports. "There are no wor. to express our appreciation for the thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours donated donat-ed to our big clean up. We do appreciate tu you are doing do-ing to your own yards and j urge you to keep up the good work. With such complete cooperation, co-operation, how can we lose?" |
