Show Education Association Names Ken Benson 1967-68 "Teacher of Year" R. Kenneth Benson, vice principal and teacher at Cedar Ce-dar City Junior High School, was named "Teacher of the Year" by members of the College Col-lege of Southern Utah Student Education Association at a special dinner presentation dent; Leo Tobler, Washington, vice president; and Carla Spencer, Glendale, secretary. Richard Farnsworth, Cedar City, out-going SEA president, was in charge of the presentation presenta-tion program. May 16. Mr. Benson is president of the BNS-BAC-CSU Alumni Association and a member of the CSU Board of Trustees. He was born in Cedar City and received an Associate in Science certificate from CSU. He continued his education at Utah State University, receiving receiv-ing Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees from that institution. He is a member of Phi Delta Kappa education fraternity, first vice president of the Cedar City Lions Club, director of the Cedar City summer recreation program, and an active member mem-ber of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is married to the former Donna Staples of Kanosh, and they are the parents of two sons and two daughters, Shelly Shel-ly 9, Sherrin 8, Kendall 6, and David 2. Also honored at the SEA dinner wrre Dr. Gwyn Clark and Dr. Eugene Holman of the CSU School of Education. They both received honorary memberships in the Utah SEA.
