Show Employment Service Director Explains State Gains Harvey N. Rich, Director of the Employment Service office located locat-ed in Ogden, was guest speaker speak-er at the meeting of the Kiwanls Club Monday evening. Also a guest of the evening was Claude Edwards, Director of the Cedar City office. Mr. Rich explained the functions func-tions of the Employment Security office and traced tremendous gains in employment throughout the state in the past ten years. He stated that the missile industry indus-try of Utah has grown to a major ma-jor industry mataiiffcl ot Iron and seel, norv ferrus Tlals and oil production and refining. Missile industry has employed 10,000 men in the state in the last three years with a payroll of $50,000,000. An additional 5,000 vovkers and an increase to $75 million in payroll Is expected in the near future. A total of 70,000. Job- place-ments place-ments have been ma6vtrvrough-out ma6vtrvrough-out the state by the Employment Security program. tr "We ask three things ot "you, he said.
