Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING ! Mr. and Mrs. Vernlle Matheson j and family of Provo have been I in Cedar City at the home or Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Crawford. Joining Join-ing with the group to spend the New Year together are Mr. and Mrs. Jack Crosby and son of Orem. Yule season guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ward Robb are Mrs. Robb's folks, Mr. and Mrs. S. VV. Bowser of LaJolla, Calif. They arrived December 24th and stayed until December 30th. Mrs. Lula Rollo and son Trent traveled to Kanab where they were guests Christmas day of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Atherly. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Crawford joined Lloyd, Jr., and family in Knit I Jlko Pity for tho Christmas I holidays. Following the festlvl-1 ties, the Cedar City couple and Mrs. Crawford's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Bowers, journeyed to Phoenix, Ariz., for a five day vacation to-1 gether. Mr. and Mis. James Bosanko and two boys stopped in Cedar City to visit with relatives after spending Christmas in Bakers-' field, Calif., with Mr. Bosanko's family. Home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Croft, Is the former for-mer Mary Kae Croft and her husband hus-band Robert B. Powers of Bakers-field, Bakers-field, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Powers have been In Cedar City for ten j days, having left for home Dec. I 30th. Mrs. LaPreal Stephans was happy to have her daughter, Miss , Cathy Stephans here from Las' Vegas for the seasonal festivities. Arriving from Bountiful to spend the week with Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Smith was their son Gary and daugliter-ln-law , Sundra and family. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Jenson and daughter were guests from Las Vegas at the home of Scott's mother, mo-ther, Mrs. Eliene Jenson. Gordon Bulloch has been here with the David Bulloch family to enjoy the Yule season. Couples here from Las Vegas for part of the Christmas season have been Mr. and Mrs. Mike Higbee, Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Wade and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Ence. The Higbees were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clair Higbee, the Wades visited at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Adams, Mr. and Mrs. West Seegmiller and Mr. ; and Mrs. Leigh Wade. Mr. and Mrs. Ence spent Christmas eve visiting friends and Mr. and Mrs. Mel Ence. i j Spending the holiday at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Reed Farns-worth Farns-worth was their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Farnsworth. Former Cedar City residents, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Miller, entertained en-tertained at the home of Mr. Miller's parents. 16 guests attended at-tended the social December 26th. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hahne of Salt Lake City were home to spend the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Marian Hahne. Last Wednesday evening Donna Don-na Jolley was hostess for members mem-bers of her pinochle club. Gifts were exchanged among club members Edith Hunter, Cecil Reese, Doris Williams, Dora Cower, Cow-er, Marilyn Bowman, Marie Nelson, Nel-son, Baibara Mitchell and Jean Berry. High score prizes were also awarded by the hostess. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Howard and family have returned to Utah to spend a portion of the holiday visiting with friends in Cedar City and relatives in Beaver. Bea-ver. The Howards make their home in Tempe, Ariz. Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Mitchell and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Orton are Mrs. Mitchell's and Mrs. Orton's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hindley of Winnemuc-ca, Winnemuc-ca, Nev. The Hindleys are also visiting friends in Cedar City and relatives in Panguitch. Norma Jean Randall and Ruth C. Hair were co-hostesses at a stork shower held Saturday night at the Laurence Cooper residence. The shower honored Mrs. Walter C. Johnson, the former Jane Chatterley who was visiting here from Salt Lake City. Many rriends and relatives were among the guests at the shower. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Parry enjoyed having their son Jimmy and family fa-mily here as well as their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Fones shared their holiday visit ivith Mrs. Lael Jones. Miss Joyce Benson was home 'or Christmas with her parents, LaMont Benson and other family members. Miss Benson Is cur-"ently cur-"ently making her home in Washington, D. C, where she Is smployed. Holiday festivities were enjoy-' ed by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hun- j ter of Orem who have been vl-' siting in Cedar City with Mrs. I Pauline Hunter and with Mr. and Mrs. Leland DeMille and family. Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Haslam were in Salt Lake City for the Christmas holiday. They were guertj of their daughter, Mrs. Juanita Beck and children. Mr. and birs. Boyd Dover of Salt Lake City were home with Boyd's family, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dover, during the past week. Saturday night, December 26th, members of a former pot luck dinner club met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas S. Clark where they enjoyed visiting and p'aying parlor games. Refreshments Refresh-ments were furnished pot luck by Kueaia, Ivlr. and Mrs. Ira Schoppman, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Eob Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Pace Webster. |
