Show ENOCH AND MIDVALLEY NEWS NOTES I Mrs. Dee WUcken Mrs. Pearl Halterman recently underwent surgery for cataracts on her eyes. The surgery was done In Cedar City and Mrs. Halterman is currently staying with a daughter in Cedar while she Is convalencing. A BirtMay party for Mrs. Cora Murie was held at her home on Saturday. The occasion was her 80th birthday. Besides members of her family who live here and i In Cedar City there were also i present Mr. and Mrs. Bryint Anderson An-derson of Bountiful, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Anderson and son Steven from Alamo. Nevada, and Mr. and Mrs. Kent Anderson of Henderson, Nev. Mrs. Laura Hunter of Salt Lake City has been visiting here i for the past week with frrends; and relatives. She has been stay-1 ing with Mrs. Drusilla Smith, who is her neice. Miss Louise Grimshaw, daugh-' ter of Mr. and Mrs. Randolf Grimshaw, has been released from the Valley View Medical Center after spending the most of two months there. She is on crutches now but will be able to attend school. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Christensen I stopped by the Hunter Grimshaw residence for a visit on their way home to Ari:ona. Last Thui.day night members of the Grimshaw family met at the George D. Grimshaw home to celebrate Drusilla Smith's birthday. Mrs. Smith reports there were about 65 in attendance. attend-ance. A good time was had by all who were there. This Friday nijjht in the Miss I Iron County contest one of our I own girls will be participating. I She is Miss Vyonne Gibson. j daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hunter j Gibson, and she is being sponsored spon-sored by the New York Life In- i surance Co. Last Thursdays niht Val Dean Williams was thrown from a . horse he was riding and injured ! his elbow. j Last week Mr. and Mrs. John iStankosky and family left here 'for a trip to North Carolina to j visit family and friends in that area. North Carolina is the for mer home of Mir Stankusky. Mr. and Mrs. Coral Richardson visited here with family and friends over the week end. They are making their home in Provo where Mr. Richardson will attend Brigham Young University Our community wucomed about ten Indian children this past week. They will live with 'different families in the Ward and attend our schools and I church this winter. |
