An official call for bids on the project is c published in this Issue of the Iron County Record. r Drawings and specifications for t the facilities have been prepared by Cedar City architect, L. Robert ( Gardner, and includes six tennis ( courts to be located northeast of i the new physical education building; a baseball field, and a multipurpose turf area, both immediately north of the new ( P. E. building. The project also , Includes a sprinkling system for ( the area. An extensive facilities develop. -ment program Is expected to be completed with the money available, avail-able, particularly because of a generous donation of labor in connection with the facilities. Work was started last week on leveling, grading and preparation of the ground for construction work with donated labor being used. It is reported that approximately approx-imately $5,000 in labor will be donated. A new football stadium is planned for the college campus, but this part of the campus development de-velopment will be undertaken under a seperate contract. Location Loca-tion of the stadium and plans for the facility are now under study. It Is contemplated that the project pro-ject can get underway in the near future. The present stadium must be abandoned since the new Fine Arts buildldng at the College, for which a contract was awarded last week, and a new library building, plans for which are now being prepared, will be located lo-cated on the present stadium area. |
