Show Ir. Legionnaires Engage In State Finals The Cedar City Junior Legion baseball team left Wednesday noon for Logan and the state playoffs In the nationally recognized recog-nized program. Four teams from throughout the state of Utah have been entered In the Logan tournament which opens "his evening, Thursday, at 5:30. The four teams In the tournament tourna-ment have all participated In previous regional tournaments to win the right to play in the state meet. The four teams include, in-clude, in addition to Cedar City, Smithfield Cache County, representing repre-senting the northwest portion of the state; Helper. Carbon County, representing the east central portion por-tion of the state, and Sugar House, Salt Lake County metropolitan met-ropolitan area. Cedar City repre-sents repre-sents the southern portion of the state. Games will be played at Crimson Crim-son Memorial Field and players will be housed In the Rural Arts Building. Utah State Agrlcultur-al Agrlcultur-al College. Double Elimination The state tournament will be run on a double elimination basis ba-sis with no team being eliminated elimin-ated from the championship until un-til It has lost at least two games. In this type of tourney a single loss does not knock a teem out of a tournament championship. ! Cedar City will meet the nor-; them representative from Smith, field In Its opening game. This game will be- a twilight affair beginning this evening; Thursday., Thurs-day., at 5:30 or at 8. Klien Rollo will manage the team In The tournament "pinch hitting" for Al Jensen, who is I on vacation. Jensen managed the , team through the regul&r season, sea-son, turning the reigns over to Rollo Just before the playoff game last week with Monroe. The Cedar City team, which 1 has been coached this season by All Jensen, consists of the following fol-lowing boys: Ronnie Anderson, Gary Anderson, Ander-son, Jerry Clifton, Bevan Cory, Ray Endsley. Erick Gardner, Nell Gentry, Reed Heywood, Jon Isom, Dwayne Jones, Kenney Jones. Travis Nelson. Nell Petty, Sheldon Shel-don Sargent. Phil Yergensen, and Steve Yergensen.
