Show Tickets Available For Organ Recital A new Wicks pipe organ, said to be one of the finest on the market, has been Installed In the Cedar Stake House and arrangements arrange-ments for a demonstration of the new organ have been completed, Stake President Elwood Cony, announces. Frank Asper, Salt Lake Taber-nacle Taber-nacle organist, will appear in a recital at the Stake House on Sunday, Aug. 12, with the stake choir supporting him in a most Interesting musical program for the evening. The program wl'l start promptly at 8:15 p. m. and stake officials and committee workers are anxious to have the chapel filled for the occasion. The new organ has been installed in-stalled at a cost of approximately approximate-ly S7,500i and at present a balance bal-ance of $2,500 is owing on the Instrument Therefore donations toward this fund will be appreciated appre-ciated by those' responsible for raising the money to pay tor the organ. In order to insure every contributor a seat at .the recital reci-tal a ticket will be Issued to everyone who makes a contribution contribu-tion of any amount No admission admis-sion price has been set and the amount to be paid is entirely the decision of the contributor. At the time the Stake House was dedicated it was announced the 93,000 was available for the purchase of a new organ, and a special music committee, headed by Reed Berrett was appointed to select the instrument to be purchased. pur-chased. This commltte, composd of Mr. Berrett Bernella Jones, Hazel Granger and L. F. Luke, after considerable study recommended recom-mended the purchase of the Wicks pipe organ and everyone who has heard it seems more than pleased with the selection. The responsibility of raising funds to pay the balance on the organ has been charged to the Sixth and Seventh wards of the Cedar Stake, with Paul Stokes and Edwin C. Cox. respectively, bishops. Robert Bradshaw and Louise Corry of the Seventh Ward, and DeMoln Jones and Hazel Granger of the Sixth Ward, .are in charge of arrangements I for the program to be presented Aug. 12. I Tickets for the concert may be obtained from any of these four, and will also be placed at business firms on Main Street for the convenience of those desiring de-siring to make contributions and attend the concert. |
