Show 1CANARRAVILLE NEWS By Hannah Dart . Pioneer Day was a success here with a salute at dawn and serenading ser-enading of the string band. A fine program was held at 10:30 a. m. Aunt Maria Ford was Utah of 1847 with her two great-grandchildren Kcthryn and Jackie Pollock as attendants. Mrs. Mar-! lam Williams was Utah of 1956 and Jody Lynn Williams ind Barbara Ence as attendants. Max Williams of Los Angeles, a former for-mer resident here, was Brlgham Young and acted as master of ceremonies. Sports for everyone at 5 p. m. followed by a children's chil-dren's dance, and a dance for adults at Cobble Crest at 9 completed com-pleted the day. , The hot dry weather which has existed here most of the summer sum-mer was broken by nice showers for a day or two with no dam-to dam-to crops or gardens. The storm was surely welcomed by everyone Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Reeves were Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Reeves and granddaughter grand-daughter Linda Jones and a friend Carlyn Taylor of Monrov-la, Monrov-la, Calif. v Mrs. Gloria Anderson and son Chris of Salt Lake City ire visiting visit-ing here with relatives. Visitors in Salt Lake City for the Pioneer Day parade were Mr. and Mrs. Ross Williams and children, B. N. and Cheryl; Hettle Pollock and Sharla Wood, B. N. was in the marching band from Cedar City. Dick and Donna Gayle Fife of Summit spent a few days here with their grandmother Hannah A. Davis. Jim Cornelius was a business visiter In California last week. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Nelson of Napa, Calif., spent a few days here at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Davis and Mrs. Nelson's grandmother, Mina Piatt Mrs. Piatt accompanied them to Baker, Bak-er, Ore., to visit for awhile with her daughter, Mrs. Rebecca Ho-teles. ' Mrs. Verdi Smith has returned home after undergoing surgery at the Iron County Hospital. Visitors here with their mother moth-er are Mrs. Mlgnon Malm and children, of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Talmadge McDonough and girls and Mr. and Mrs. Dur-rel Dur-rel Smith of Cedar City. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Junior Williams were some of their children, Mr. and Mrs. Kelsey Taylor and son of Henderson, Hen-derson, and Mr. and Mrs. LaVere Carter of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Ella Reeves and grandson Randy are In Salt Lake City where Randy will enter the children's chil-dren's hospital and undergo surgery-Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Williams and family of Salt Lake City, spent several days here with his parents.
