Hyatt, Executive Director, the National Conference on Citizenship, Citi-zenship, Wash., D. C, chairman; George Edgar Probst. Executive Director, Thomas Alva Edison Foundation, Inc.. and, William Dow Boutwell, editor. Scholastic Teacher. This committee of judges will select the $1,000 cash and medal award winner and twenty-three other cash and medal winners in the "America Beacon of Hope" essay contest to be announced Aug. 14th at the V.F.W. National Encampment in Dallas, Tex. .Mrs. Sherman L. Olson, Nat'l Aux. President, in announcing the judges' names said ; "We are I & WW, wm. o. aourwfu cr o. f. rnossr honored and proud to have these distinguished leaders in patriotic and educational activities serve as judges for our contest because by occupational activity and personal per-sonal sentiment they form an interested, in-terested, informed and ably qualified qual-ified group who are striving to raise American standards of education and citizenship. Their dedicated work gives added purpose pur-pose to our contest and its theme, "America Beacon of Hope' which has attracted hundreds of thousands of high school student entrants from public, parochial and private schools in the 44 states.
