Show Paragonah Matron Honored at Special Open House By Nora Lund Mrs. Harriet Isabel! Reynolds Topham was the guest of honor t'uesday a open house held at the home of her son and daugh. ter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Herb-ert Topham, on her 80th birthday. birth-day. Many relatives and friends called during the day to visit "Aunt Bell" as she is lovingly called, and to wish her many happy returns of the day. Mrs. Topham was born July 9, 1877 in Panguitch, the 11th child of Josiah and Elizabeth Norton Reynolds. Her summers were spent at the ranch near Panguitch Pan-guitch Lake where her family operated a dairy and shingle mill, as well as a profitable fishing fish-ing industry from the lake. She received her education In Panguitch. Pan-guitch. She married Joseph Topham of Paragonah in the St. George temple Mar. 18, 1903. To them were born five children, Mrs. Isa Lolp, Cedar City; Mrs. Rhoda East, Los Angeles, Calif.; Orson, Miles City, Mont.; Herbert. Paragonah, Para-gonah, and Clifford, who was killed July 4 1934 in a car accident acci-dent in Beaver County. She has 12 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Mrs. Topham has always been an active member of the L D S Church. She was a visiting teach-re teach-re in the Relief Society for a long tlrne. She also acted as a counselor coun-selor to the president in that organization. or-ganization. Mrs. Topham's husband died June 29, 1938. Since that time she has lived In her own home, and with her son Herbert and family as well as spending intervals inter-vals with her other children. At present she is residing at the j Truman Rest Home In St. George. |
