Show Fife Family Reunion Draws Large Throng A Fife family reunion, held In Cedar City over the week end proved unusually successful, with about 80 members of the family from this area, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Idaho and northern Utah present for the occasion. The group included descendants descend-ants of Peter Muir Fife, an early southern Utah pioneer. A convert to the church, Mr. Fife came to America from Scotland in 1842, at the age of 37. He Joined the Mormon Battalion at Council Bluffs, Iowa in 1846, and after being mustered out of service in California, rejoined the Mormons at Salt Lake City. In 1851 he was called to help settle Iron County, and was one of the original settlers set-tlers of Hamilton's Fort. The reunion program featured a meeting on Friday and an outing out-ing at the Bulloch ranch In the Three Creeks area, which was the homestead of the Joseph Fife family. |
