Show Cedar City Social Swing Mr. and Mrs. Bud Phillips and three children have returned to Salt Lake City after a visit over the wefk nd with Mr. and Mrs. Art Tyler. The home of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Leonardi was the scene of a very heartwarming reunion when Mr. Leonardi and his sister, Mrs. Ferd Sesti of Jackson Heights, N. Y. met for the first time In 19 years. Aside from getting re-acquainted and reminiscing they enjoyed taking Mrs. Sesti and her husband to Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion National Parks for their first visit. Mr. Sesti who is an executive for the Allied Department Store chain, was greatly impressed with the can yons and with the Western easy way of life. The visitors left for I their return home July 4. Another unique get acquainted meeting took place at the Orwin Green residence recently. During the last war while Mr. Green was in the service, he met and became be-came well acquaitci with Glen Everett who was from Michigan. Mrs. Everett resided on a farm in that state with her children during dur-ing the time her husband was uav Thrntiffh thalr hilchanHs' friendship the two wives began corresponding. This correspondence correspond-ence has continued over the past 13 years without either woman meeting the other, until Mr. and Mrs. Evrett. now residing in Torrance. Tor-rance. Calif, visited the Greens. The short visit was certainly en-Joyed en-Joyed by both couples. Visitors at the A. W. Stevenson home last week were Mr. and Mrs. Gam A. Brown and five girls from Salt Lake City. Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Stephenson are sisters. While In Cedar City. Mr. Brown and Mr. Stephenson en-Joyed en-Joyed some good fishing, while the ladles visited at home. Also a visitor with the Stephenson family is Miss Carol Ann Bishop of Logan. Carol Ann, a daughter of Professor and Mrs. A. Alvin Bishop, of Logan, will remain with her aunt and family for six weeks while her parents cor- plete a six-week assignment in Japan. Prof. Bishop, who was in Japan last summer, was requested request-ed by the Japanese Government to return for the six week period per-iod to consult with them on Irrigation Irri-gation work in that country. Many Ma-ny activities have been planned !o entertain Carol Ann during her visit here. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Glvan and daughter Pamela spent the past eek end at their cabin at Navajo Na-vajo lake. Mr. and Mrs, Thomas Glvan and children Joined them for the day Sunday. ; The Glen Yergensen family ecently returned from a busy and enjoyable vacation. Julie and Danny accompanied their Darents to California for six days. F.nroute they stopped and saw the bright lights of Las Vesas and then traveled on to Disney, land where they spent a day of fun. taking in all of the rides and sidelights there to enjoy. Another day was spent In Santa Monica where the family enjoyed enjoy-ed the beach. On their return trip home, they stayed over in Las Vegas before continuing on to Cedar City. Guest for the evening when the Chere Amies met at the home of Mrs. Clara Wahlquist was Mrs. Donna Hansen. Mrs. Hansen entertained during the evening with a variety of readings. Annette An-nette Wahlquist offered a piano selection. "Melody of Love" after af-ter which Mrs. Wahlquist as hos-tess hos-tess served light refreshments. A business meeting consisting of an election and group planning followed. |
