Show I LIVING III ESCALANTE VALLEY Br Mrs. Jack MoyU "Where did everyone come from?" and "the Valley surely Is growing,'' might have been among the many remarks made by the folks of the Escalante Valley Val-ley and neighboring towns who had met at the Valley school house and grounds on the evening eve-ning of July 4 for the famous Fourth of July potluck supper and fireworks sponsored by the women's club. The Escalante Valley Lions Cluh held its regular bl-month-lv meeting at the school house cn Monday night. Mrs. Mary Movie and Mrs. Selma Godard were In charge of the supper for the evening. Tony Alberto prepared pre-pared a dish of good old Italian meat balls and spaghetti. The Uvada Stake Primary Board meeting was held at Enterprise En-terprise Monday afternoon. The Uvada Stake M I A board meet ing was held in the evening of the same day. Those attending the creative dance review given at Cedar City on Monday night by the children of Mr. Leath's rhythm classes enjoyed an evening filled with color, rhythm and creativity. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Piper, their son David, and Mrs. Piper's mother enjoyed a trip to Cedar Mountain and the Cedar Breaks. They reported that the weather was rather chilly, calling for coats whereas In the valley the temperature was climbing up to around a hundred. The Joseph Delvecchlo family. Bryner Wood family, Phyllis Wood's sister Virginia and family fam-ily from Salt Lake City, Lane and Nora Austin enjoyed an out-door out-door supper and party at the Flinspach ranch, above Modena Saturday evening, July 6. Mr. and Mrs. Deward Terry of Enterprise, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Moyle and Maud Moyle, accompanied accom-panied the C S U group on the Kolob trip. The group was halt ed at the Kolob Reservalr because be-cause of flood and road conditions condi-tions brought about by a sudden sud-den rain storm. Unable to continue con-tinue on down through the Virgin Vir-gin oil fields as planned, a delicious deli-cious supper and fun for all was enjoyed In a muddy meadow mea-dow below the reservoir. Ralph Gardner is home from the Iron County Hospital where h& has been recuperating from a serious operation. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Hester of Barstow, Calif, and small daughter, daugh-ter, have been at the Gardner home for some time, returning to California on Monday.. Mrs. Hester is the former Janice Gardner, Gard-ner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gardner. . , The Hunt family Reunion will be held at Enterprise on July 22, all descendants were reminded remind-ed this week. Games and sports will get under way at 2 p. m. at the Enterprise square follow- ed by a pot luck supper at 6 p. m. A program will be held at 8 and at 9 elections will be held for officers of the family organization. |
