Show I Last Rites Held for Lizzie Watson Adams Funeral services for Lizzie W. Adams were held Wednesday, July 3 at 2:30 p. m. in the Parowan Paro-wan Third Ward chapel with Bishop Howard M. Adams con. ducting and also offering opening open-ing remarks Mrs. Adams died on Sunday, June 30 at the Iron County Hospital. Karl O. Mitchell was the opening open-ing speaker, followed by tribute nnd reading of 23rd Psalm by Delia S. Gurr. Concluding speak er was President Harold S. Snow of the St. George Temple. Prelude and postlude music and accompaniment for musical numbers on the program was by Itha Mortensen. The musical numbers were as follows: "I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked," by a mixed group consisting con-sisting of Ramona Stubbs, Berta Burton, Shirley Evans, Alice C. Mitchell, Karl Mitchell, Heber Gurr and E. Ray Lyman; "Whispering "Whis-pering Hope," by E. Ray Lyman and Patricia Urie, and the closing clos-ing song, "Abide With Me," by the mixed chorus. The opening prayer was offered offer-ed by Harley W. Dalton. the closing prayer by Thomas K. Holy oak and the dedicatory prayer was by President Howard D. Knight. Pallbearers were four sons, of the deceased, Adrian W. Adams, Orlnda, Calif.; ElDon W. Adams. San Jose, Calif.; D. Watson Adams, Parowan; Karl W. Adams. San Francisco; a son-ln-law, William Osborne, Oakland, Calif, and a grandson, Rodney M. Adams, Parowan. Survivors are husband. Will L. Adams, Parowan, the four sons above mentioned, one daughter Joyce A. Osborne, Oakland; 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and the following brothers and sisters: Vivian W. Woodbury, Las Ve-gas, Ve-gas, Nev.; Alma W. McGregor, Provo; Clark Watson, St George; Bertha W. McGregor, St. George; LoRen King, Salt Lake City; La-Verd La-Verd Lillywhite, Southgate, Cal.; Iva Findley, Florlan Johnson, Ora Eatough, all of Kanab; Ralph Watson, Cedar City; Nevada Driggs, Gooding, Idaho, and Aft. ton Driggs, Salt Lake City. Born in Parowan, Jan. 10, 1883 to Melissa Clark and Lorenzo Dow Watson, Mrs. Adams was active ac-tive in public and civic affairs. She served as Parowan City recorder re-corder and clerk and bookkeeper in old Parowan Equitable store. She was a lifelong church worker, having served as Sunday School teacher, as a counselor In Y W M I A. a teacher in Ward Relief Society, and on the sew ing commltee of that organ iza. tion. She was president of Elizabeth Eliza-beth Camp of D U P, under whose direction old Rock Chuch was renovated. re-novated. She and her husband served a short term mission for LDS Church In California and she was called to Temple mission mis-sion In 1950 and served In that capacity while her pealth permitted permit-ted up until the time of death. |
