Show Millard Division Basketball Schedule Given With the close oi the football season, coaches in the Millard division of Region Six are preparing pre-paring to turn to the basketball court for the next four months. The schedule cf league games for the Millard division of the region was announced this week with league play to get under way Jan. 8 but with Coach Bruce Decker's team getting a bye for that week and opening its season sea-son on Jan. 15 with Milford on the Parowan floor. Coach Decker has all the boys in the high school playing out a class series this week and next with regular rroctice to begin the week following. He has lined up a series of eight practice games for his Paiowan Rams, the maximum number allowed by the Utah High School Activities Association this i ear. The first practice game will be played Dec. 4, at Parowan with Gunnison high school. The next night, Dec. 5, the Piute high of Circleville comes here. The next week end, Dec. 1-. the Rams go to Panaca to play the Lincoln High Lynx, with the Cedar Red-men Red-men coming hen? Dec. 12. On the Dec. 18 and 19 week end the Parowan Rams and Cedar Ce-dar Redmen w it entertain the Springville and Cyprus high teams, here on Friday night and at the C S U fiaklhouse Saturady night. Parowa.i won from the Springville team and lost to the Cyprus squad in the Class B tournament tour-nament last March. After a short recess for Christmas Christ-mas the Rams will resume practice prac-tice games, poin;? to Cedar for a game with the Redmen on Dec. 29 and to Panguitch on Dec. 30. Coach Decker is endeavoring to get a game for Jan. 8 when the rest 'of the Millard division teams open play. The reason for byes in the schedule is that the Hinckley Hinck-ley high school no longer exists making this division a five-team league. Hinckley has been combined com-bined with the Delta high school which will make that school, always al-ways strong in basketball play, even stronger this year. Jan. 22: Parowan at Delta, Milford Mil-ford at Beaver, Millard bye. Jan. 29: Parowan at Millard, Delta Del-ta at Beaver, Milford bye. Feb. 5: Beaver at Parowan, Millard Mil-lard at Milford, Delta bye. Feb. 12, Millard at, Beaver, Milford Mil-ford at Delta, Parowan bye. Feb. 10: Parowan at Milford, Delta Del-ta at Millard, Beaver, bye. Feb. 24: Delta at Parowan, Beaver Bea-ver at Milford, Millard bye.
