Show Wide Search Starts For "Gun-Happy" Newcastle Stranger Sheriffs' officers of Iron County are contining a search for a man who is accused of having fired a revolver over the heads and at the feet of three Newcastle youngsters Monday evening. The turee boys, Clair Hulet, 11, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hulet; Hu-let; Billy Harrison, 11, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Harrison, and Michael KnelL 10, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Knell, had alightei trom the school bus at the Gordon Knell home at the entrance of town and were walking walk-ing toward the other boys' homes, when a stranger, riding alone in a green Chrysler sedan, drove by and fired three shots over the boys' heads and two at their loot. The boys report that he then drove to the Knell home, went into the house where no one was at home, but soon came back to his car, and drove back toward the town. The boys were hiding under a bridge, on which the man stopped his car and again fired ooth up and down the wash on either side of the bridge. Later Lat-er the boys made their way down the wah to a nearby home and reported the incident. Sher'ff Arthur Nelson was notified noti-fied at Cedar City, and road blocks were set up immediately and a search of the area started. However, no trace of the man could be found. Police officers througnout the area are keeping a sharp lookout for anyone who might answer to the description of the man and car given the sheriff. |
