Show Elks Annual Turkey Shoot Readied The annual turkey shoot of the Cedar City Elks Lodge will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 21 and 22, it was announced by Ross Woolsey of the organization organiza-tion this week. As in the past the turkey shoot will be held at the Elks lodge hall and Saturday evening will be for members exclusively. Sunday, Sun-day, however, the general public is invited to attend and try its ruck between the hours of 10 a. m. and midnight. Saturday evening eve-ning the Elks members will begin be-gin the shoot at 7 o'clock. Last year, Mr. Woolsey pointed I out, approximately 70 turkeys were given away at the shoot and many a family table was sporting an Elks shoot turkey. Competition is divided into rhree groups, including junior, senior and women's, with the ladies especially invited to participate. par-ticipate. At the shoot only single shot .22 calibre rifles are used, for safety purposes, it was pointed out and each contestant will be judged on his individual score in the keen competition. All guns and ammunition are furnished by the club. Assisting on the committee in charge of arrangements are Mr. Woolsey, Boyd Holyoak, Milt Jol-ley Jol-ley and Ken Clark. Steve Asmus, exalted ruler of the Cedar City Elks Lodge No. 1556, announced today that the officers and members of the local organization would participate in a visitation to the lodge at Eureka, Eu-reka, Utah Saturday evening, Nov. 14. A number of the local officers as well as members plan to make the trek that will be highlighted principally by the installation of new members under the direction of the local delegates. Mr. Asmus pointed out that both the president and secretary of the state organization are members ot the Eureka lodge and that Information on state activities ac-tivities would also be given at the visitation by these state offi-cers. |
