Show P-TA Will Sponsor School Problem Presentation Meet Although there has been no particular school cricis in the Iron County School District, the local Parent-Teachers Association Associa-tion will cooperate with the Board of Education in attempting attempt-ing to bring a clearer understanding under-standing of school problems to parents and taxpayers In this , area, according to Mrs. D. G. Cow-Ian, Cow-Ian, president of the Cedar City Parent-Teacher Council. It is felt that with a special session of the legislature to convene con-vene soon to consider school problems, local residents should be familiar with the problems confronting the schools of the state, and the way in which these problems may be reflected in the local school situation. Mrs. Cowan, with Mrs. Lamont Bennett, vice president, met with the Board of Education Monday to discuss ways - and means of bringing these problems to the attention of the people, with the result that it was decided to work through the Cedar City Coordinating Co-ordinating Council. Accordingly a Coordinating Council meeting, open to everyone concerned with education and school problems, has been called for next week, at which time pertinent questions of school financing fi-nancing and legislation will be discussed. A decision will be reached at this meeting as to whether or not further action in bringing the questions before the people should be taken, and also the best means of doing this. The meeting will be held at 7:30 p. m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, and all parents of school children and paaons of the school are invited in-vited and urged to attend. |
