Show Morris Slack Wins Silver Award In Scout Honor Night Morris Slack, son of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Slack, Cedar City, was honored with the Silver Award, the highest honor that can be given to an explorer scout, at a court of honor held by the Cedar Breaks Distilct Sunday, Nov. 8. At the court of honor, which was under the direction of Sheldon Sheld-on Olds and Rev. Wm. Burton, approximately 50 awards were presented to scouts of the Cedar Breaks District. The affair was well attended by friends and relatives rel-atives of those receiving the awards at the court. Presentation of the Silver award was made by Dr. P. K. Edmunds, Ed-munds, a member of the council, and was the highlight of the evening. eve-ning. Other entertainment furnished during the evening for the youngsters and their friends was the showing of the film "Secret Service," a story of the submar-ine submar-ine service during World War II. The film was shown by and through the cooperation of Recruiter Recru-iter Thomas of the Naval Recruiting Re-cruiting station in Cedar City. |
