Show Education Board President Files for Re-election Samuel Abbott, president of the Iron County Board of Education, and a member of the board for 20 years, has filed as a candidate candi-date for re-election, according to Howard N. Dalley, clerk of the board. Mr. Abbott, who has served for the past five years as a representative repre-sentative of District No. 1, which includes all that portion of Ihe school district outside of the corporate cor-porate limits of Cedar City and Parowan. had stated that he did not intend to file for re-election unless no other candidate filed by the deadline. However, he responded to the request of citizens of the district to enter the race once again. Candidates have until 5 p. m. Monday, Nov. 14. to file for the election. Mr. Dalley states. Any individual residing in the district dis-trict served by Mr. Abbott may file as a candidate or five persons per-sons may file for any particular candidate. The election will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 2, and the successful suc-cessful candidate will begin a five vear term of office on Jan. 1, 1954. |
