Show I Cedar City Fourth Ward Sponsors Carnival I To Raise Additional Funds for Stake House In an effort to raise additional addition-al revenue with which to apply on a balance still owing by the ward, the Cedar Fourth Ward is ! sponsoring a big Ward Carnival on Thursday, April 22, beginning at 4:30 p. m., according to Blaine Stapley member of the bishopric in charge. The carnival will feature special spe-cial concession stands for people of every age, ranging from home made ice cream, pop corn, home made candy and cookies, to the I booths leaturing old books, special spe-cial needle work and aprons. The basement of the church will be j turned over to the Elders quor-turn quor-turn to sponsor a "fun house" featuring special attractions, side shows and mysterious oddities. The Relief Society will serve food during the afternoon and evening. You may buy a hot dog, piece of pie, sandwich or a full meal. The food will be served cafeteria style. A full two hours of entertainment, entertain-ment, including specialty dances, audience participation shows magician acts and music will bt shown during the evening at var ious Intervals. ' Prettiest Bishop" As a special feature, the ware will conduct a "beauty" contest or popularity contest during th day. Each bishop of the sever Cedar City wards will be en- i jtered in this contest. Each will I j have a barrel placed in front of a caricature of himself, and all i 1 money placed in the barrel will I J count toward winning the congest, con-gest, and the bishop will get all ( money placed in the barrel to do- nate to the Stake House in the name of his ward. The bishop , reccivir.g the most votes at lc a . vote will bo declared the "Prettiest "Pretti-est Bishop in Town."- The schedule of events for the i day will include a Kiddie Kami- j val starting at 4:30 p. m. This ; Will feature special magician acts, special concessions and activities acti-vities for the kiddies. They will also be able to buy hot dogs, ice cream, candy, or light lunches at this time. There will also be a "fish pond" for the youngsters. Main Event I The main event gets under way at 7:30 p. m. with the entire recreation rec-reation hall turned over to concession con-cession stands, bazaars, special sales and other activities. All food, materials for the con-, con-, cession stands, bazaars, etc. are being donated by members of the Fourth Ward. They extend a special spe-cial invitation to everyone in the 1 area to attend, and will guarantee guaran-tee to give you a good time, Mr. Stapley stated. "You might say i that we can "double your mon- ey," he said. We will give you full value for every cent you spent with us, and then we will turn around and donate your money to the Stake Huse, which in turn will double itself again by being matched by funds from the church." |
