At ceremonies given in his honor at Fort Douglas recently Captain Erwil Vance Johnson of Cedar City, left, was awarded a certificate of achievement from Colonel William Wil-liam C. MeFadden, Chief Utah Military District. The certificate cer-tificate was awarded for outstanding achievement by Johnson in the past four months as Installation Intelligence Intelli-gence officer at Fort Douglas. The award was made because be-cause Capt. Johnson's "superb leadership and selfless performance per-formance of duty" in directing the program resulted in the Fort Douglas headquarters receiving commendation from a Department of Army Inspector General. Capt. Johnson, a son of Mrs. Clinton Milne of Cedar City, and a graduate of the College of Southern Utah left this week for a 40-month tour of duty in Europe. His wife, the former Miss Doris Leigh of Cedar City, and their eight year old son will remain in Salt Lake City until she can join her husband in Europe. |
