Show Officers Elected At Meeting Of Women's Clubs At the annual convention of the Southern District, Federated Women's Wo-men's clubs, held in Parowan last Saturday, Mrs. Huldah M. Hulet, member of the Parowan Literary Club, host for the convention, con-vention, was named as president of the federation for the coming year. She succeeds Mrs. Wanda Rounday of Kanab, who has served as president for the past year. Other officers named with Mrs. Hulet to head the federation for the coming year were as follows: Mrs. Earl Allen, Panguitch, first vice president; Mrs. Graydon Robinson, Kanab, second vice president; Miss Eva Adams, Parowan, Par-owan, secretary and treasurer; Mrs. Vaughn Robinson, Kanab, historian, and Mrs. Vee Bruhn, Panguitch, parliamentarian. The election was held during the morning session of the convention con-vention and the new officers were installed during the afternoon after-noon session by Mrs. Harold Christensen, Springville, president presi-dent of the State Federation of Women's Clubs who was in attendance at-tendance and addressed both sessions ses-sions of the convention, Also in attendance and addressing the club members were Mrs. L. D. Shroder, Salt Lake City, first vice president, and Mrs. George Wor-then, Wor-then, Provo, Americanism chairman chair-man of the federated clubs. The convention was well attended at-tended with almost 75 ladies present for ih? afternoon meeting meet-ing representing clubs in Kanab, Panguitch, Cedar City and Parowan. Paro-wan. The day's program was carried car-ried out substantially as announced an-nounced last week, with registration registra-tion and a meeting of club presidents pres-idents at 10 a. m., a business and report meeting at 10:30 at which time the election was held, a tour of the new Iron County Rest Home and luncheon during dur-ing the noon recess, and the final session at 2 p. m. i Retiring officers of the Federa- tion besides Mrs. Roundy are: ! Mrs. Fae N. Benson, Parowan, first vice president; Mrs. Cleo i Marshall, Panguitch, second vice president; Mrs. Shirley Riggs, Kanab, secretary and treasurer, ' and Mrs. Vaughan Robinson, who was re-elected as historian. |
