Show Electric Power Rates Discussed with Paragonah Officials At a meeting of the Parowan City Council with the Paragonah Town Board last Monday night proposed rates for the sale of electric power by Parowan City to Paragonah Town were considered. consid-ered. Tne present contract for .sale of power to that town has expired and is to be ienewed right away. Parowan city at the present time is supplying Paragonah with electric energy at the rate of 2 cents per KWH, and city Engineer Thomas Adams had figured fig-ured out some alternate schedules, sched-ules, one of which is to take the place of the present rate if the contract is renewed. One of the proposed schedules would call for $1.50 per KWH for demand power with a IVic per KWH energy charge, and the other would be $1.75 per KWH for demand and V4 c for energy used. The city also proposes to build a new line from the Paragonah Para-gonah plant to the lines in that town, and in exchange that town would turn over the present line between the two towns, which it owns, to Parowan. This line would be replaced with a new high tension line between the local plant and the new Paragonah Para-gonah plant. The Paragonah Town board will consider these schedules and meet with the Parowan officials offi-cials at a later date. We understand under-stand that Southern Utah Powei Company has made an offer tc supply that town" with power I either on a wholesale or retail I basis. |
