Show Local Women's Voter I League Gets National Recognition The provisional League of Women Wo-men Voters of Cedar City has received re-ceived full recognition as a local league from the League of Wo-1 men Voters of the United States.' The recognition comes after a ' year of preparatory work and learning. The Cedar City League of Women Voters now joins the I 917 other local leagues in every1 state of the United States, the District of Columbia, Alaska and' Hawaii. More than 122,000 women I are the active members of these organizations. I In order to achieve recognition recogni-tion the Cedar City league had to accomplish certain purposes: an increase In membership dur-' ing the year, a fully organized i board of directors, a successful .finance drive in the community, i unit or discussion meetings in the fields of international relations, rela-tions, the Federal budget, and state government. A local government gov-ernment survey also had to be completed and studied in the units, .with plans made for its use in the community. The Cedar City league is now entitled to send a delegate to the national convention of the League of Women Voters, which will be held in Denver, April 26 through 30. The president, Mrs. William Burton, has been chosen to represent the group. A second woman may go as a visitor. The local delegate will join with approximately ap-proximately 1000 other league members to adopt a national; program of work for the next! two years, elect national officers, , and adopt a budget.
