Show Gun and Rod Club Names Next Year's Officers At the annual election meeting of the Parowan Gun and Rod Club held on Monday evening of this week in the County courthouse, court-house, officers for the coming year were elected and reports were heard from club officials. Some plans were also made for the club's annual ball which is to be held on Dec. 31 (New Year's Eve). Eugene M. Orton was named as president of the sportsmen's group for 19.")5, to succeed Joe Benson, who has been president during the past year, utner 0111-cers 0111-cers for 1955 are Ralph Orton, I vice president; Leonard Orton, I secretary; Duane Van Ausdal, i treasurer; Dr. Roy T. Wilkerson j and Howard Ward as members jof the board of directors. The retiring re-tiring president of the club automatically au-tomatically becomes a member of I the board for the coming year land incoming officers appoint two more members of that board :to complete the organization. Officers who will retire at the end of the year along with Mr. Benson are Elmer Mitchell, vice president; Ivan Johnson and Vern illolyoak, board members. Leonard Leon-ard Orton and Mr. Van Ausdal 1 ! were secretary and treasurer dur-l dur-l ing the year coming to a close, and were re elected to those po-! po-! sit ions for the coming year. 1 Robert B. Mitchell, southern Utah's representative on the State Fish and Game Commission, Commis-sion, gave a very comprehensive report on the past year's activities activi-ties of that board, and told of some of the problems and objectives objec-tives of the group which are being be-ing worked out at the present time. lie also reported some of the activities of the Utah Wildlife Wild-life Fpflcr.it ion. which represents the sportsmen's organizations in the state in cooperation with the State Fish and Game |
