Show City Council Reports On New Hydro Plant Progress I At the regular December meet-ling meet-ling of the Parowan City Council Coun-cil on Monday evening, a report on the progress being made on the new hydro power plant being be-ing built at Paragonah was given. While the pl ant will not be in .operation as soon as hoped for, I good progress is now being made ! and completion is expected soon after the first of the year if not I before. I It was reported that the walls are up and the roof on the building build-ing to house the generating machinery, ma-chinery, that intake works at I the south fork in Paragonah canyon can-yon are complete, and that this week should see the finish of i concrete work on the main can- :yon intake works. Work on the line connecting the new plant at Paragonah with the Parowan plant has progressed to the stage j where it will be finished in time , for use by the time the plant is ' in operation. I Original plans were for the plant to be in operation in late summer, but delays in the arrival arri-val of machinery and supplies for the project has set the completion date back by several months.. The council also considered a tentative budget of expenditures for 1955 and a special meeting has been called for Saturday night, Dec. 18 to approve the I tentative draft of that ordinance. |
