Show i Commissioners Study Problems At December Meeting At the iegular December meeting meet-ing of the Board of Iron County Commissioners held on Monday, Commissioner Leonard lliggins of the staie Civil Defense office met with the hoard to urge that it appoint a chairman of the Iron j County Civ il Defense organization organiza-tion as soon as possible. llaldow K. Christensen, who has heen county chairman of the organization for several years, resigned re-signed from that position several weeks ago, and no appointment had been made to fill the vacancy. va-cancy. The commissioners stated .that the vacancy will be filled ; in the very near future. The dike is in need of repair before1 the spring run-off occurs if it is to 'fulfill its purpose. It was built' ! several years ago under the sup- j ervision of L. M. Winsor. The hoard informed Mr. Peder- j son that the county doesn't havei funds for such purposes, and is not in a position to take on anyj flood control projects. The board informed Mr. Pederson that it would try and enlist the aid of the State Itoad Commission in repairing the dike, as floods in that area would he a hazard to the state highway running across the valley. I.oreno J. Williams was appointed ap-pointed by the hoard, as justice of the Kanarraville Prineinet, to fill the vacancy caused bv the resignation of Win. C. Reeves several months ago. The bo'ird also spent considerable consider-able time in considering the tentative ten-tative budget for Iron Count v for lf)rr, a report of which is given elsewhere in this issue of the Record. |
