Show Joseph Ferguson Holyoak was born at Parowan Jan. 23, 1878, a son of George and Elizabeth Ferguson Holyoak. He was married mar-ried to Harriet Scott on June 15, 1904 in the Salt Lake L D S temple. A prominent farmer and livestock live-stock man, he was also active as a church and civic worker in the community. Following his marriage mar-riage he fulfilled a two-year mission mis-sion for his church in the British Isles. He has served as an officer offi-cer and teacher in the Sunday School, as a ward teacher and in the priesthood quorums, being a High Priest in the Parowan First Ward at the time of his death. He has served as a member of the Parowan City Council for a number of years and had served as head of the Fields and Yankee Reservoir Company, and was very active in the building of the Yankee Meadow Reservoir He had been associated with his sons Glen and Arlo in the farming, sheep and cattle business bus-iness for many years and was active in the management and operation of these interests almost al-most to the time of his death. Survivors include his widow, two sons, Glen S. and Arlo S. Holyoak, Parowan; two daughters, daugh-ters, Mrs. Nelda Jones, Spokane, Wash., and Mrs. Ruth Jones, Denver, Den-ver, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Thomas K. Holyoak Holy-oak Parowan, and George Holyoak Holy-oak of Burley, Idaho. |
