Show 1 "- " - - Cedar City Coordinating Council j Makes Changes in Election Meet j Two members of the Central Committee of the CYdar City Coordinating Co-ordinating Council were elected at the annual election meeting of the organization Wednesday evening, and the chairman of two important committees were released re-leased and successors appointed to fill the positions. Mrs. W. Arthur Jones and A. W. Stephenson were re-elected to the central committee, each for another three year term. I Mrs. J. S. Prestwich, who has served as a member and chairman chair-man of the important Music Arts , Committee for the past 10 years, and C. B. Cooley, who has head-led head-led the Adult Education Committee Com-mittee since 1946, were released, j Appointed to replace Mrs. Prestwich was Mrs. G. O. Larson, I who has served in previous years on the Music Arts Committee and was a member when she was 'selected to succeed Mrs. Prestwich. Prest-wich. Stephen L. Rrower, Iron County agricultural agent, will replace Mr. Cooley as adult education edu-cation chairman. He has been serving on the committee in recent re-cent years. Other Appointments Two other committee chairmen named at the meeting were Richard Rich-ard Gillis, who will serve as i Unesco chairman, replacing Vern : Kupfer, who has moved from Ce- i jdar City, and A. O. Jensen, who I will become safety committee i I chairman, succeeding Near Car- I tor, who resigned. Mr. Gillis is a i social science intsurctor at the , Cedar City High School and Mr. , Jensen, is staff assistant Indus- trial relations for Columbia Iron Mining Company. The council heard reports from Dr. Reed W. Farnsworth, art exhibit ex-hibit chairman, an! Mrs. A. W. Stephenson, secretary, on plans for the forthcoming exhibit to open April 16. Eldon J. Yergensen, chairman of city beautification, led a dis-cussion dis-cussion on what might be accomplished ac-complished in the clean-up week scheduled for mid-April. He outlined out-lined a plan, urging the support of local civic clubs in a city-wide city-wide campaign. r- , |
