Show Ranger Groups Join To Study Insect Control Means A cooperative insect control meeting was held at the forest supervisor's office in Cedar City on Mar. 30 to work out some of the problems involved between Bryce Canyon National Park lands and Dixie National Forest in connection with treating insect infested trees this spring, according accord-ing to Boyd Leonard, timber staff officer of the Dixie National Forest. For-est. Over 8.000 infested trees must be spotted and treated on park service and forest service lands before the insects emerge in July. This woik is closely correlated and details of planning are worked out between the two agencies in order to get the work done in the most efficient way possible. Those attending the meeting were: Jack B. Dodd, assistant chief of forestry, National Parks Service. Washington, D. C; Paul R. Franke, superintendent of Zion jand Bryr.e National Parks; Albert Albertson, Dixie National Forest supervisor, and Paul Grossenbach and Les Orr of the regional for- jest service office at Ogden. Park l angers Felton, Kennedy, iKreuger and Carlson, and forest 'rangers Cuskelly, Bently and Wil-iliams Wil-iliams were also present at the meeting. |
